Imaging: ultrasound, X-ray...

Imaging encompasses methods for acquiring and displaying images based on various physical phenomena, such as X-ray absorption for radiology or wave reflection for ultrasound.

Our clinic is equipped with a modern ultrasound machine and a flat-panel digital X-ray system for enhanced definition.

We can offer general and cardiac ultrasound and radiology services. Should your pet require a more extensive evaluation (CT scan, specialized ultrasound), we may refer you to specialists.

Screenings for hip and elbow dysplasia in most breeds can also be performed at our facility.

Answers to your questions!

For the diagnosis of certain conditions such as heart disease, kidney problems, bladder issues, etc., or for certain cancers, ultrasound remains a preferred diagnostic tool.

It provides a non-invasive and fairly precise view of what is happening and can indicate the need for further examinations.

Ultrasound can also be used to monitor the progression of a treatment, which can be helpful in ensuring the animal responds well to its therapy.

In case of an accident, or when your companion exhibits certain clinical signs, an X-ray examination is necessary.

X-rays primarily allow us to visualize bones, but they can also be used to detect the presence of fluid or air in your pet’s body. They also enable the measurement of certain organs or the diagnosis of specific pathologies.

During pregnancy, X-rays allow us to accurately count the number of fetuses and measure the pelvic passage of the expectant mother, to best anticipate delivery.

Both X-rays and ultrasounds are painless and non-invasive. Depending on the situation and the pathologies being investigated, mild sedation may be necessary for the animal’s comfort and the accuracy of the examinations.

Most X-ray or ultrasound images are interpreted within our facility. In complex situations, we may need to send the images to specialized veterinary imaging specialists.
