Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory

Our clinic is equipped with a comprehensive veterinary diagnostic laboratory, offering hematology, biochemistry, hormonal assays, urinalysis, and microscopy.

These daily analyses allow us, when necessary, to establish an accurate diagnosis or to monitor your pet’s overall health.

For reproductive monitoring, these analyses also enable us to determine the exact timing for mating and/or insemination.

Our laboratory is located within our veterinary clinic, which allows for rapid results and better care for your companion.

Answers to Your Questions!

Depending on symptoms observed during consultation, such as dehydration, polyuria/polydipsia, or significant weight loss, a blood test may be necessary to determine the underlying cause.

Blood collection is typically performed during a consultation, with the assistance of one of our veterinary nurses. Blood sampling is painless and can be performed from various sites. (front or hind leg, neck). It may occasionally be necessary for your pet to fast for certain tests; please do not hesitate to contact us for any information.

Urine can be collected in various ways depending on the requirements: simply by free catch, via a urinary catheter, or by cystocentesis with the aid of an ultrasound scanner.

During a consultation or a scheduled check-up, the veterinarian may need to perform a blood or urine analysis to refine a diagnosis or assess your pet’s health status. For monitoring certain conditions such as diabetes, epilepsy, or renal insufficiency, regular check-ups are essential.

In the vast majority of cases, the collected blood or urine sample will subsequently be analyzed in our clinic, allowing us to obtain rapid results. It may occasionally happen that certain specific analyses are sent to more specialized laboratories.
